Der Unbekannte am Telefon behauptet, eine Bombe in seinem Auto angebracht zu haben, die explodieren wird, sobald Sung-gyu das Fahrzeug verlässt oder nicht die geforderte Geldsumme zahlt. Zwar glaubt Sung-gyu zunächst an einen üblen Scherz, doch da ausgerechnet an diesem Tag seine Kinder mit im Wagen sitzen, will er kein Risiko eingehen und befolgt die Anweisungen. Als er mitansehen muss, wie der Vizedirektor seiner Bank durch eine Autobombe stirbt, wird ihm klar, wie ernst die Lage ist. Sung-gyu setzt nun alles daran, sich und seine Familie zu retten.
